“2nd SUNDAY OFADVENT”
HOLY TRINITY ANNOUNCEMENTS
WELCOME TO OUR SERVICE OF WORSHIP!
As we prepare for worship, when the prelude begins please refrain from all talking and instead meditate and prepare ourselves for worship this Lord’s Day. Prayer and meditation are powerful spiritual disciplines that ask us to find some quiet time in our busy lives to get to know God and ourselves better. The prelude before the service is the perfect time for this quiet time.

Dear Women of Holy Trinity,
We wanted to express our heartfelt thanks for the beautiful shower that you gave to Tim and I as we prepare to welcome Samantha to the world. Your generosity and love is overwhelming and we consider it a blessing to be part of your wonderful church family. We are blessed to be surrounded by your love and support in this exciting time in our lives. Samantha is going to be well cared for in this congregation and we can't wait to introduce her to you when we come back from maternity leave.
Thanks again for everything!

God has blessed us abundantly with a wonderful congregation full of people who love one another and who share their abundance with others. God promises to love us no matter how we falter in our service and obedience to God’s will. In response to that promise we commit to support God’s church with a portion of what God has given to us. It is important that we respond to steadfast mercy and love with fulfillment of our own commitment because no matter how much we decide to give to God’s church it pales in comparison to what God has first given us.
O God, in your love you have given the people of this land gifts of abundance beyond what our forebears knew or could imagine. Mercifully grant that we may not be so occupied with material things that we forget spiritual gifts, and thus, even though we have gained the whole world, lose our souls; through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
There will be no Saturday evening worship on Saturday, December 10 because of the Bishop’s visit.
Bishop E. Roy Riley will be visiting Holy Trinity on Sunday, December 11. He will be giving a presentation at 9:15am in the Parish Hall in which he will talk about the work of the synod as well as answer questions from the congregation. We will have one worship service at 10am in which he will preach as well. Following worship we will have fellowship together in the Parish Hall. Please plan to attend Bishop Riley’s presentation as well as worship at 10am.
We will be collecting sweatshirts-hooded or unhooded (sizes XL), Socks-thermal or white, T-shirts (size L-XL, knit winter caps (and a knit scarf or gloves, if you wish) nuts or bar chocolate for Christmas-at-sea. These satchels filled with your gifts will be distributed to over one thousand seafarers met by port chaplains. These seafarers would have spent Christmas alone, forgotten somewhere in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. Your kindness will reach seafarers in ports from Philadelphia to Providence. Any items listed above will be greatly appreciated. Deadline is Sunday, December 11th.
We continue to receive food donation on the second weekend of each month for the Maple Shade Food Bank. December 11th will be the next days we will be receiving food donations. They are in need of toilet paper.
The Food Bank is open Wednesdays 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. every other week at the Municipal Building on Stiles Avenue. Next Date is December 7, 2011.
Urban Promise tree: Please take a tag or two…All of the children NEED hats and gloves and some need coats. Of course, it would be awesome if we could also give each of these children an additional personal item such as:
Examples: Gift card to McDonalds, Aeropostle, American Eagle or Wal-Mart, pajamas, socks, skateboard, games, or whatever you choose.
The sky’s the limit!
Please wrap and tag all items with the child’s name.
They all attend the Urban Promise High School
in Camden.
THANK YOU!
Any questions, ask Laura Ogden 609-332-5882
